Having a morning routine is very important in our everyday life to keep you organized and productive throughout the day. So in this post, I will be telling you how to can create the best morning routine that will work for you.
Depending on your career, goals, your life. You should build your morning routine around all these factors so that it suits you best.
For example, a mom’s morning routine with her kids is different from a single woman’s morning routine.
This mom has to get up early and prepare her kids and herself for the day, so she has to create the best morning routine for herself.
Meanwhile, the single lady has just herself to think about and also has more time to prepare herself for the day. Similarly, with people that work from home and people that have a 9-5 job.
All these make everyone’s morning routine different, so you have to create the best morning routine that will work best for you..
What is a Morning Routine?
A morning routine is the set of activities you do in the morning, usually before starting your day’s main activity like going to work or school.
These activities can be anything from drinking a glass of water or brushing your teeth to doing a two-hour workout or running around the block.
Why You Should Have a Morning Routine
Like I said having a morning routine is very important, so here are some reasons you need to create the best morning routine.
Having a morning routine helps you start your day with the right frame of mind, you do not feel stressed out in the morning.
Imagine not having a morning routine and you wake up whenever you like. Most of the time you would be rushing out the door for your daily activities like work and school.
It helps you feel organized in the morning because you have time allocated for everything. Time to wake up, you know what follows immediately and also all the things you have to do in the morning.
Finally, it helps you to be productive because you know all the essential things you need to do. You have already planned out your day for it.
How To Create The Best Morning Routine That Works For You
1. LOOK AT THE TIME YOU HAVE
Depending on your career and life for you generally, you have to check the time it would take for you to wake up and get things done orderly.
If you have got to work, you would calculate the time it takes you to work out if you have a morning routine for a workout. Then get ready and the time it takes you to get to work.
For example, you are to resume work by 8 am, your workout time is 30 minutes, you also take 1 hour to get ready ( bath, dress up, makeup and breakfast).
The distance from your house to work is about 30 minutes, in all we have a total of 2 hours. With this, you would have to wake up between 5 am to 5:30 am if you want to take your take and prepare for work.
However, if you are self-employed or work from home you have more time to do your morning routine.
Also, if you are a stay-at-home mom you have to create the best morning routine around you and your kids.
2. WRITE DOWN YOUR TO-DO LIST A NIGHT BEFORE
Writing down the things you have to do at night helps you to be organized when you wake up.
You already know all the things you have to tackle in the morning thereby making you productive.
This helps you to create the best morning routine because your mornings are already well taught, although some mornings may be different, the majority of the time it is planned.
3. PLAN YOUR BREAKFAST
Sometimes thinking of what to eat in the morning can be time-consuming. This step is very essential if you want to create the best morning routine for yourself.
And if you have kids because you do not want to give them the same breakfast every day it is boring.
Also, always plan for breakfast just in case you don’t have all the items you need you can get it ahead of time.
4. PICK YOUR CLOTHES
This one is very funny to me because I know how many times I spend minutes trying to choose an outfit for the day.
The worst part is you don’t realize that the time is going until you check the time.
So the night before go through your clothes and select your outfit for the next day. If you have kids do the same for them, I tell you it is life-saving.
5. ADD THINGS YOU LOVE DOING
So because your morning routine has to work for you, you should add something you love doing.
Whether is praying, meditating, reading, or taking a long shower, you have to add something that gives you joy.
During your meditation time, you should always say some positive affirmation to yourself.

6. HAVE 10-20 MINUTES CLEANING ROUTINE
Having a 10 to 20 minutes cleaning is good to help you keep your house for the day before you run off to work, school or meetings.
As you create the best morning this step should be added as compulsory.
Just set a timer, pick up around the house, do a quick sweep and do the dishes, make your beds, touch places in the house you need to.
You would be happy you did that when you get back home from the day’s run and not feel overwhelmed by a messy home.

7. TRY TO EXERCISE
Doing a little exercise every day can not be overemphasized. Take a few minutes every day to work out, it is very important for your health.
You can try yoga, or go to the gym, I do at-home exercises and they are helpful.
You can check out Chloe Ting’s workout if you need some at-home workouts, I love her workouts.
8. HAVE A LITRE OF WATER
Water is essential to you, it helps your metabolism, helps your brain and it also keeps you hydrated.
You can buy a cute water bottle so it looks fun when drinking. I love putting lemon in my water, so I have lemon water first thing every morning.
Another essential step in your list is to create the best morning routine for you.
CONCLUSION
Create the best morning routine that works for you, everybody can not have the same routine. Like I said depending on your work, school, and lifestyle your routine will change.
Do not forget to incorporate all the points I have listed to help you create the best morning routine for you.
You can also add more activities you feel you need.
